Meccano

Meccano is a model construction system created in Liverpool, UK by Frank Hornby in 1898. The system consists of reusable metal strips, plates, angle rods, wheels, axles and gears and plastic parts connected by nuts and bolts. It allows working models and mechanical equipment to be built. Meccano maintains a manufacturing facility in Calais, France. In 1913, a very similar construction set was introduced in the USA under the brand name Erector. Meccano purchased the brand Erector in 2000 and unified its presence on all continents.
