Rules - 'Wind Vehicle' Challenge

1 - The parameters set for the development of this prototype model which is to be made from Meccano are:-

a - The vehicle shall be a wind powered land vehicle.
b - The tractive effort is to be applied through either wheels or tracks or a combination of both.
c - The model must be capable of controlled changes of direction regardless of wind direction.
d - The model when placed on a reasonably level playing field or car park in a 10 -15 kph plus breeze, will demonstrate that it is able to move and change direction i.e. 'do its thing'

2 - All competition models must meet the specified criteria to be eligible for judging.

3 - Brian Hickson will be the sole judge, and no correspondence shall be entered into.

4 The model must be made from Meccano or Meccano pattern parts, with the following exceptions

a) Rubber bands.

b) Protective devices, e.g. if you are using 6" diameter pulleys for wheels you may use large "O" rings as tyres to protect the pulleys from damage.

c) Springs. I feel the Meccano range of springs is rather limited

The challenge will be held on the reasonably level swept concrete or tar-seal surface of a playing field or car park.

This is NOT a race. It is a challenge devised by Brian Hickson for innovative design and use of parts to overcome the challenge of wind power
